Mission
Our mission is to provide the opportunity for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to learn to listen and speak so they can join their hearing peers in a mainstream educational setting, given full family involvement.
Overview
The most appropriate and consistent hearing technology, which can include hearing aids, cochlear implants, room sound field or personal FM systems, is emphasized for each child to achieve the benefits of learning through listening.
Natural communication through listening is woven into the fabric of every interaction. All instruction and individual therapy centers are focused on building each child’s listening skills from sound awareness to following long directions.
Families become partners in their child’s learning and must be committed to spoken language for their child. One day a week is set aside for the auditory-based therapist to work with individual children and their caregiver in the class.
